The PLPLG is a consortium of universities that share the practice settings in and around London for students on nursing and nursing associate programmes. The group has been in existence for over 20 years, working alongside our practice partners and sector representatives.
The purpose of the group is to:
• develop, support, monitor and evaluate a standardised London wide approach to practice learning and assessment across London for a range of learners on pre-registration nursing programmes
• reduce variation in practice learning to create excellence across London
• work collaboratively with other health and social care professional groups sharing and disseminating effective practice.

My name is Mariama Seray-Wurie, Associate Professor and Head of Practice Learning for Healthcare Education at the University of Roehampton.
A key part of my role involves working collaboratively with practice learning partners within the NHS and private, independent and voluntary healthcare providers to maintain a positive working relationship, support staff development in supporting student learning and how students can get the best out of placement experiences and develop professionally.
I’m delighted to be co-chair of the PLPLG, a group which supports the delivery of excellence in practice learning.
